Son-in-law murdered father-in-law, The father had reached the daughter’s in-laws’ house after getting information about the torture

Bettiah (Bihar): In Shikarpur police station area of West Champaran district of Bihar, his daughter was beaten to death by her father-in-law’s son-in-law, who had come to his in-laws’ house on the information of his daughter being tortured. The incident took place in Mahuva village late on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Amrullah Sheikh (60), resident of Lakhaura village of Balthar police station. In this case, the accused son-in-law Sheikh Alif, resident of Mahuawa village, has been arrested.

Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jai Prakash Singh said that the body of the deceased has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. Accused has been arrested. It is said that the deceased Amrullah had come to his daughter’s house on receiving information about the assault. His daughter Hasantara Khatoon had informed him about the beating by his son-in-law. When the daughter reached her in-laws’ house, she had an argument with her son-in-law and the dispute escalated into a scuffle.

SDPO said that every aspect of the incident is being investigated. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused.
