Sports contribute to enhancing national unity: MD Mujahid

Khammam District Minority Gurukul Welfare Officer MD Mujahid said that sports increase national unity. He inaugurated the three-day district level Games and Sports Meet at the Telangana Minority Gurukul School/College located in Singareni Mandal Center on Friday along with the principals of the respective schools. Earlier, the national medal was unveiled, the sports torch was lit and balloons were released into the air. He received a salute from the students. Later, he said that the state government has established Telangana Minority Gurukul Girls’ School/Colleges with a great determination to provide quality education to minority girls. As part of that, 13 schools have been established in the joint Khammam district so far and quality education is being provided to the students.
He said that with the aim of providing quality education to students from all sections of the state, the Telangana government has established one Gurukul school per constituency and has become an example in the country. Along with quality education, nutritious food is provided to the students in these schools, and for this, the government is spending Rs. 1.35 lakh per year on each student. He praised that Telangana has become an education hub. He said that 975 students from 13 schools from Khammam, Bhadradri and Kothagudem districts are participating in these sports competitions that will be held for three days.
He said that there will be competitions in Under-14 and Under-17 categories, volleyball, kho kho, tennis, ball badminton, and athletics will be organized. Minority Gurukul Welfare Khammam District In-Charge Officer Srinivas, Regional Level Coordinator (RLC) Aruna Kumari, DAC Aproj, Principals of Minority Gurukul Schools of the joint Khammam districts D. Savitri, Pasupuleti Sailaja, Sangeetha, Geetha, Akhila, Seetha, Bipasha, Parahina, and Jyoti participated in this program.
