Sriganganagar: 2 kg heroin seized from a farm
Punjab: About 2 kg of heroin has been seized from a farm in the border area of Sriganganagar district. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Yadav said that a packet of heroin was found in a field in Chak 17-S village, in which 2.79 kg of heroin was found in two packets. Its price in the international market has been estimated to be around Rs 10 crore. A case has been registered against unknown suspects under the NDPS Act and the investigation has been handed over to Sub Inspector Surinder Rana. According to police sources, last night Pakistani smugglers dropped packets of heroin in Indian territory through drones, which Indian smugglers could not take. No more packets were dropped, because according to the information, Pakistani smugglers send more packets of heroin only when they get a photo of the heroin dropped by them on WhatsApp. Officials said that on receiving information about suspicious packets lying in the field, the police and intelligence agencies cordoned off the area. Even after waiting for several hours, no one came to take the packets of heroin, so they seized the packets. Intelligence agencies are busy gathering information about all the people who have come from outside to the surrounding villages in the last two-three days.
