SSRP water should be released immediately: Somesh Goud
BRS Arvapalli Mandal President Gundani Somesh Goud said that since the rice is in the final stage, the SSRP water should be released to save the crops. He spoke at a meeting organized at the Mandal party office on Tuesday. He said that due to the release of water in the weekly manner during this Yasangi season, water did not reach the last ayacut and the crops were left here and there, and the green crops have become fodder for cattle. Now, when the crop is in hand, the water was stopped five days ago, announcing the last schedule. He expressed his regret that this has created a situation where the farmers’ hard work has been turned into ashes. He reminded on this occasion that even in the scorching summer under the KCR government, water would flow continuously in the canals. He warned that the government should respond and release the SSRP water immediately, otherwise, they will launch large-scale agitation programs along with the farmers.
