State’s first digital library will be built here with Rs 3 crores

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today gifted developmental projects worth Rs 8 crore to Bilaspur district. He laid the foundation stone of the state’s first digital library to be built in Rauda sector of Bilaspur, on the construction of which approximately Rs 3 crore will be spent. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Krishi Bhavan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 5.18 crore in Dholra area. He directed to complete the construction work of these buildings within two years.

CM Sukhu said that in the first digital library of the state, the collection of books will be available to the readers in the form of digital documents, which will be accessed through the internet. Under this project, more such digital libraries will be opened in 10 panchayats of different areas of Bilaspur district so that the readers of rural areas can get the benefit. A contract has been signed with Himachal Pradesh State Electronic Development Corporation for this work. The Chief Minister directed to start this digital library by the end of this year. He said that Krishi Bhawan will also be constructed in Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 5.18 crore, which will have the facility of parking, Deputy Director’s office, hall for organizing farmers’ meetings, video conferencing hall and adequate rooms for officers and employees.

Talking to journalists, the Chief Minister said that the recent disaster has caused huge damage in the state. To help the disaster affected people, the state government has issued a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore and they are themselves monitoring the work of providing help to the affected people. He said that the state government is trying its best to help the affected families with its resources. Aid will be distributed to the disaster affected people in Bilaspur district on October 25 and he himself will visit Bilaspur district.

CM Sukhu said that the hopes of a special relief package from the Central Government are getting blurred day by day, because claims of Rs 12 thousand crore related to the disaster from the state have been sent to the Central Government but no special relief has been issued. . He said that the Central Government should release the funds as soon as possible as per the rules on the claims sent. He said that BJP continued to bake political bread even during the disaster and their attitude towards the affected families remained indifferent. BJP did not support the resolution brought in the Assembly to declare this terrible disaster in the state as a national disaster and provide special relief package. He thanked the donors for the record donation to the disaster relief fund.

In response to a question, the Chief Minister said that Zilla Parishad cadre employees should leave their strike and return to work. The state government is working seriously to solve their problems. He said that right now the work of providing help to the disaster affected people is going on and they should end their strike.
