Steps taken to curb illegal trafficking: DSP Srinivas Reddy

Kodad DSP Srinivas Reddy said that steps have been taken to stop illegal transportation. He spoke to reporters at his office on Friday on issues such as illegal transportation of grain, law and order, conduct of gram panchayat elections, etc. He warned that strict action will be taken if grain is transported from other states without permits within the Kodad division. He said that precautions have been taken to stop illegal transportation. He said that 6 check posts are being set up within the division to stop illegal transportation. He said that his staff will be on duty at these check posts for 24 hours. He said that action is being taken against vehicles transporting grain without permits and proper documents. He said that seven lorries and one tractor have been seized so far. He said that a special drive is being continued in coordination with the Civil Supplies Department.
He said that steps have been taken to ensure that peace and security are not disrupted in the village panchayat elections to be held in Huzurnagar and Kodad constituencies. Out of 120 village panchayats in Kodad constituency, 77 villages have been identified as problematic villages and additional forces are being deployed there, he said. He urged everyone to exercise their right to vote. He said that as part of taking innovative measures to maintain peace and security, police teams are touring villages and creating awareness. He warned that peace and security will be strengthened further with the cooperation of the people and that everyone should respect the law, otherwise strict action will be taken.
