Stone pelting on Kanwariyas in Jogi Nawada, more than a dozen injured

Bareilly. On Sunday, people from other communities pelted stones at Kanwariyas near Shahnoori Masjid in Jogi Nawada of Baradari. More than a dozen people were injured in the stone pelting. On information, police officers including the police force of five police stations reached the spot. The area turned into a cantonment. The injured have been sent for treatment. A group of 2000 thousand kanwariyas was going to take water in Kachla from Gusai Gautiya Reliance Tower in Jogi Nawada area. People of other community pelted stones at the Kavadis from the rooftops near Shahnoori Masjid. More than a dozen kanwariyas were injured in this. In which women, men, kanwariyas are included. On receiving the information, SP City Rahul Bhati, CO Ashish Pratap Singh, Inspector Baradari along with five police stations reached the spot. The police have cordoned off the entire area. People from other communities alleged that the Kanwarites had never passed through this route. He opposed the departure of the Kanwaris. After which stone pelting happened. A video of stone pelting is also going viral. In which some youths are seen pelting stones in front of the police. Bricks and stones are also seen lying on the road in huge quantities in the video. At present, the top police officers are constantly trying to pacify the Kanwariyas by persuading them. According to the information, Vanwari Lal Sharma’s group was leaving from here. After stone pelting once, there was second stone pelting on the kanwariyas in the samosa street. After which a large number of Kanwariyas have gathered near the Baba Bankhandi Nath temple. Kanwariyas allege that at the behest of the former councillor, stones were pelted at the group of Kanwariyas. The police have closed the local market as a precautionary measure.
