Stray dogs will be sent to a shelter: Municipal Commissioner

Karnataka: The Municipal Commissioner has stated that steps are being taken to send stray dogs within the municipal limits to shelters.

In a press release issued in this regard, he said that in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives, dogs will be caught from the premises of hospitals, schools and colleges, playgrounds, and bus stands and sent to shelters.

The release further stated that non-governmental organizations, associations, animal welfare organizations, and other animal lovers who are committed to protecting animals, who are compassionate towards animals, and who are interested in adopting dogs from shelters or providing food to the shelters, can contact the Municipal Health Department.
