Strict action will be taken against those who encroach on agriculture department lands
Raipur. Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology Minister Ramvichar Netam today reviewed the progress of departmental work by holding a meeting of senior officials in the meeting room of the Mandi Board located at Atal Nagar Nava Raipur. He said that the Agriculture Department is an important department related to the farmers and common citizens of the state. For the convenience and betterment of farmers, better implementation of schemes should be done on priority. He asked for quality and better implementation of central and state sponsored schemes as a priority.
In the review meeting, Minister Shri Netam directed the officials to take special initiatives to provide adequate quantity of chemical fertilizers to the farmers. He said that a fertilizer lab should also be established in Surguja to provide quality fertilizers to the farmers. Minister Shri Netam, along with having solid information about the lands available for all the institutions under the Agriculture Department, directed to take immediate action against the illegal encroachers. He instructed the officers to prepare an action plan for developing nurseries in all the development blocks of the state.
Minister Shri Netam also reviewed the progress of KCC loan. He said that even now credit cards have not been made for all the farmers in villages, especially in tribal areas. By publicizing the scheme, work should be done on making credit cards for 100% farmers as a priority, so that all the farmers can get the benefits of the scheme. He also laid special emphasis on the training of farmers. Minister Shri Netam said that in coordination with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, he also directed to provide training to maximum number of farmers regarding improved agriculture of different crops.
Minister Shri Netam also discussed about the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, Prime Minister Irrigation Scheme, Food and Nutrition Security Scheme, Agriculture or Mechanization Scheme, Rain Fed Development Scheme, Soil Health Management Scheme, Millet Mission, Agricultural Irrigation Watershed Development Scheme including Horticulture, operated under the Agriculture Department. Reviewed the schemes and development works of the Department, Agricultural Development and Seed Corporation and Mandi Board. Agricultural Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary Urban Administration Dr. Ayyaz Fakirbhai Tamboli, Managing Director of Mandi Board Mr. Yashwant Kumar along with Directors of Horticulture, Forestry and Agricultural Seed Corporation and other senior departmental officers were present in the meeting.
