Strong partnership needed for Nagaland’s development: IDAN Chairman Abu Mehta

Kohima (Nagaland): Industrial Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) Chairman Abu Mehta emphasized the need for strong partnerships to advance the state’s development and potential. He stated that improved collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to fully realize Nagaland’s growth potential.

Abu Mehta stated that Nagaland has several sectors with significant development potential, but systematic planning and partnership models are needed to advance these areas. He stated that working together with the government and private sector can strengthen the state’s economic situation and create new employment opportunities.

He also stated that achieving all development goals through government efforts alone is not possible, and therefore, private sector participation is crucial. According to him, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model could be an effective solution for states like Nagaland.

The IDAN Chairman stated that Nagaland has immense potential in agriculture, tourism, handicrafts, and small industries, which can be furthered through proper investment and collaboration. He stated that the right policies and investments in these sectors could significantly transform the state’s economy.

Abu Mehta emphasized that merely formulating plans for the state’s development is not enough; implementing them on the ground is equally important. This requires coordination and partnership among various stakeholders.

He also stated that IDAN is continuously striving to create platforms where investors, entrepreneurs, and government departments can come together to work towards development. He stated that such efforts will improve the investment climate and boost economic activity in the state.

Mehta stated that Nagaland’s youth population is a significant strength and, if provided with the right opportunities and training, can play a significant role in the state’s development. He also called for special attention to skill development and employment generation.

He also stated that progress in any sector is impossible without infrastructure development. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen road, communication, and transportation facilities to attract investors.

Abu Mehta concluded by stating that Nagaland has a bright future, but it requires all stakeholders to work together. He expressed confidence that through strong partnerships and the right policies, the state can reach new heights of development.
