Student dies after government school roof collapses: EPS condemns incident.
Tamil Nadu: AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has condemned the incident in which a government school building collapsed, resulting in the death of a student.
A post regarding this was published on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday:
“The news of the death of a 7th-grade student at the Kondapuram Government School in Tiruvallur district due to a railing collapse while he was having lunch is deeply shocking and saddening. My heartfelt condolences to the parents of the deceased student.
If the DMK government had paid attention to the maintenance of the structures of government schools, this tragic loss of life could certainly have been avoided.
The lives of students are not safe due to the dilapidated condition of government school buildings.” He further posted that adequate compensation should be immediately provided to the family of the deceased student, Mohit, and that the repair work on government school buildings should be undertaken on a war footing.
