Students Strike Against Serving Worm Rice In Veldanda Gurukulam

This is another incident that shows the state of affairs in Gurukuls under the Congress government. Students of a Gurukul school in Nagarkurnool district have taken to the streets, alleging that they are being served worm-eaten food. The students staged a sit-in on the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway, alleging that they are being served worm-eaten food in a Gurukul school located in the Vellanda mandal center of the district.

Four students fell ill during the protest and were immediately taken to a local private hospital. The students alleged that they were being served worm rice instead of meals as per the menu at the school. The principal and teachers were causing them trouble. The students demanded that they be suspended immediately. Upon learning of this, the MRO and the police held talks with the students. They said that an investigation would be conducted into the matter.
