An important notification has been published by the Police Commissioner of Surat City to detect mobile theft and crimes committed using mobile phones in the city. According to which the dealer taking the old mobile while buying the mobile will have to enter the full name and address of the mobile seller and the mobile buyer. Legal action will be taken by the police against those who do not do so.

Surat City Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar today made an important announcement on the sale and purchase of old mobiles. According to which the full name and address of the seller of the mobile phone will have to be entered while buying the mobile. Registration of name and address details, as well as ID proof should be mandatory, failing which legal action will be taken by the police against the traders.
Direct sale of mobile phones will also have to be reported to the police
Further, when a person sells a mobile phone directly to another person, the full name of the buyer and the seller has to be obtained from the seller and one copy has to be kept with him and the other copy has to be given to the nearest police station. Violators of this order announced by the Police Commissioner will be eligible for punishment by taking legal action against them.

Apart from the sale of old mobiles, the Surat Police Commissioner has announced an important order for the purchase and sale of SIM cards used in mobiles. Like buying and selling of mobile phones, traders will also have to register their names while selling SIM cards. Buyer’s identity, proof of identity, SIM card number and company details are required to be entered.
