Suryakumar Yadav visited Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy Temple

Tirupati: India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, to offer prayers on the occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi.
They prayed to Lord Venkateswara and passed through the Vaikuntha Dwaram (Door of Heaven), as Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials had arranged their darshan and helped them enter the hilltop temple.
Upon their arrival, they were warmly welcomed by both devotees and temple staff. Dressed in traditional attire, they graciously participated in the rituals, demonstrating that many Indian athletes maintain strong cultural and spiritual ties despite their busy professional lives.
This morning, they had darshan of the deity. After the darshan, priests blessed them at the Ranganayakulavari Mandapam inside the temple. They then offered theertha prasadam and presented clothes to the deity.
Suryakumar’s most recent appearance for India was in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, where he led the Men in Blue to a 3-1 win over the Proteas. He will next captain the team in five T20Is against New Zealand in January 2026, a preparatory series for both teams before the T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7.
India will enter the tournament as the defending champions, having won the T20 World Cup in 2024 in Barbados by defeating South Africa in the final.
