Demand for Mamnoor to be a separate division intensifies

Warangal: Members of the Mamnoor Mandal Sadhana Samithi (MMSS) on Monday submitted a memorandum to DCC President and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman Enagala Venkatrama Reddy at his chamber in Hanamkonda, demanding that Mamnoor be declared a separate mandal headquarters. The delegation urged the state government to end decades of administrative neglect and grant Mamnoor mandal status.
The committee leaders said that farmers in the area had made huge sacrifices when approximately 1,900 acres of fertile land was acquired in 1932 to build an airport and other government institutions. They alleged that despite losing their livelihoods for public works, very little development has taken place in the area over the past century. This demand gained momentum after an all-party meeting held on December 25, 2025, in which representatives from political parties, caste associations, and civil society organizations unanimously passed a resolution to grant Mamnoor divisional status. Although the area currently falls under the 43rd division of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), residents expressed concern that the merger had not resolved administrative issues and that a separate divisional headquarters would help address local concerns. Committee members stated that Mamnoor had the necessary population, strategic location, and government land to serve as a divisional headquarters. They also stated that if the proposal was approved, surrounding villages would also benefit from centralized administration. Responding to the representation, Venkatram Reddy stated that he would bring the issue to the attention of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the state government. He assured the delegation of his support in the development of the area.
