Punjab: IAS officer Sandeep Hans chargesheeted for ACR remarks

Punjab: The state government has issued a chargesheet to 2010-batch IAS officer Sandeep Hans. He is reportedly accused of violating government instructions by recording the Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) of two PCS officers. Official sources told The Tribune that the chargesheet was issued because Hans recorded the ACRs of two junior officers, stating that their integrity was “doubtful.”
These entries were made when he was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Moga a few years ago. Officials said that while Hans expressed doubts about the integrity of the two officers, he did not provide specific reasons or justifications for the inaccuracies, as required under service rules. On all other parameters in the ACRs, he reportedly gave the two junior officers “good” gradings.
