The truck caught fire due to a short circuit, many vehicles were parked nearby

Korba. A truck suddenly caught fire on Thursday night due to short circuit. This incident happened during sample checking in SECL Gevra mine. A truck loaded with coal was standing in line. Many trucks were standing behind the line. The coal loaded in the truck started burning after it caught fire. Seeing the danger of fire spreading to many other coal laden trucks on the spot, all the trucks were immediately removed from there.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, SECL’s fire brigade team reached the spot. However, before the fire brigade reached, a large part of the truck and coal had already burnt. The fire was controlled with the help of fire brigade. According to the information, many times burning or hot coal is loaded from the siding. Due to this, incidents of fire in trucks have happened earlier also. The driver informed the company about the incident, after which the officials reached the spot and took further action.

Let us tell you that earlier there was an incident of two youths dying and one getting injured during coal theft in Gevra mine. These incidents raise questions on the security system of the mine.
