Gold price drops for 24 carat and 22 carat in India on Jan 16, 2025

Bhubaneswar: Gold prices in India have experienced a notable drop on January 16, 2026. The price of 24-carat gold has decreased by Rs 220 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold has dropped by Rs 200 per 10 grams. Today, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 1,43,400 per 10 grams, and 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 1,31,450 per 10 grams in the Indian market.
Similarly, in Bhubaneswar, the price of 24-carat gold is Rs 1,43,400 per 10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold stands at Rs 1,31,450.
Here are the updated gold rates in major cities of India:
Mumbai: The price of 24-carat gold is recorded at Rs 1,34,960 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 1,23,700.
New Delhi: The price of 24-carat gold is Rs 1,34,930, and the price of 22-carat gold is Rs 1,23,650.
Chennai: In South India’s major city, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 1,35,880, and 22-carat gold is at Rs 1,24,100.
Kolkata: In the eastern region, the price of 24-carat gold is Rs 1,34,960, while 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 1,23,700.
On the other hand, the price of silver has seen a decrease of Rs 1,000, bringing the current price to Rs 2,37,000 per kilogram in India.
