Sir: Why was the time extended in Tamil Nadu?

Tamil Nadu: Information has been released regarding why the working hours of SIRs have been extended.
After Bihar, the Election Commission has been conducting Serious Voter List Revision (SIR) in 12 states, including Tamil Nadu, since November 4th.
Polling Station Level Officers (PLOs) went door-to-door and distributed voter counting forms to voters at their addresses. Voters filled them out and submitted them to the polling station level officers.
68,470 PLOs were involved in this work. 246,069 polling station agents from political parties assisted the PLOs. According to this, as of October 10th, 64,113,772 calculation forms were distributed out of a total of 64,114,587 voters on the voter list in Tamil Nadu.
Of these, 64,113,221 calculation forms were uploaded as of December 11th. This includes deceased, homeless, absentee, and dual registered voters. The Election Commission decided to remove these voters and publish a draft voter list. According to reports, the names of over 7 million voters are likely to be removed.
Advice: The deadline for submitting SIR calculation forms had already been extended to December 11th. The Election Commission also decided to publish the draft voter list on December 16th. In this regard, Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik held consultations with Election Observers Raman Kumar, Kuldeep Narayan, Vijay Nehra, and Neeraj Garwal at the Secretariat on Thursday regarding the work of the Tamil Nadu SIR.
Following this, the Election Commission announced that it would extend the dates for publishing draft voter lists in six states, including Tamil Nadu, at the request of the Chief Election Officers of these states.
Accordingly, it was announced that the draft voter list in Tamil Nadu will be published on the 19th.
The Election Commission also stated that during this extended period, new voters can fill out Form 6 and upload it through PLOs or online.
The Chief Election Officer stated that after the draft voter list in Tamil Nadu is published on the 19th, voters can appeal against it until January 18th of the following year, and the final voter list will be published on February 17th.
Why the extension? The Chief Election Officer of Tamil Nadu stated that the deadline for uploading tally forms received in Tamil Nadu was 100% complete. The list of voters marked as uncontactable, addressless, homeless, deceased, and double-registered in the tally forms has been given to the polling station-level agents of political parties, who have clarified their true status and made corrections before publishing the draft voter list.
The Election Commission has taken this new initiative so that millions of voters can be saved from being left out after the release of the draft voter list.
