Director Vignesh Raja reveals Mamitha Baiju wasn’t the first choice for Kara

Kollywood star Dhanush and Malayalam beauty Mamitha Baiju are gearing up for the release of the latest action entertainer ‘Kara’ starring Kollywood star Dhanush and Malayalam beauty Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Directed by Vignesh Raja, Dhanush and Mamitha will be seen as husband and wife in this film. The film will be released in Tamil as well as Telugu on the 30th of this month. However, director Vignesh Raja revealed in a recent interview that Mamitha was not the first choice for the heroine in this film. According to the details he gave… Chaitra J Achar was initially selected for this role and a look test was also done. However, since she already had a similar getup in the film ‘My Lord’, he said that he thought that she would look the same in both the films.

After that, Mamita Baiju was approached and said that she was initially skeptical about whether she would accept the role in ‘Kara’ as it was different from the roles she had done so far. But the director revealed that she was surprised that she accepted immediately after hearing the story. Meanwhile, Mamita Baiju responded to the criticism that Malayalam actresses are being selected for opportunities in Tamil films. She said that it is her responsibility as an actress to do new roles and that if the director thinks she is suitable for the role, he will give her a chance. The film stars Dhanush and Mamita Baiju along with Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KS Ravikumar and Karunas in key roles. The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar and produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Wales Film International. Set in a rural setting, the story is going to show how a villager becomes a thief in an interesting way. With the combination of the story and the actors, there are good expectations on ‘Kara’.
