Police raid on illegal liquor, one accused arrested

Raigarh: Gharghoda police took action against illegal liquor in village Jampali yesterday and arrested Balram Das alias Ballu (36 years) resident of Puslda, police station Gharghoda with 6 liters of Mahua liquor. Police had received information that the accused was looking for a customer to sell liquor hidden in a plastic jerrycan in the forest area.

The police reached the spot and caught Balram Das red handed. The estimated cost of the seized liquor is said to be Rs 900. A case has been registered against the accused under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act in police station Gharghoda. Head constable Parasmani Behera, constable Harish Patel, Bhanu Chandra, Chandrashekhar Chandrakar and other staff played a commendable role in this action.
