CHENNAI: Suicide pact: Woman kills herself, son undergoing treatment

Chennai: In a suspected suicide pact, a 52-year-old woman committed suicide while her son is undergoing treatment in a critical condition. The incident came to light on Monday afternoon when the son contacted his father Neeraj Jain and informed him about the incident. Neeraj, a senior executive in a private company, reached his home in Anna Nagar and found his wife Sonali Jain (52) and son Kshitij Jain (29) unconscious. They were immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared Sonali dead. Kshitij was admitted as an inpatient. In another incident in MKB Nagar on Tuesday, a 34-year-old woman Nandini allegedly set herself on fire following a domestic quarrel and is undergoing treatment at Kilpauk MCH.
