Chennai: Call-taxi driver arrested for sexually assaulting actor

Chennai: A call-taxi driver was arrested on Saturday for allegedly sexually harassing a film actress during her journey from Chennai Central Railway Station to Thandalam. The actress, who recently appeared in the Tamil film “Dude,” had come by train from Maharashtra to attend the film’s audio launch.
After hiring the taxi at the station, the driver, identified as Pandian, allegedly made obscene gestures and misbehaved with the actress during the journey. The actress lodged a formal complaint at the Periyamet police station. Police immediately registered a case, identified the driver, and arrested him. Police said he has been remanded in judicial custody.
