Showroom theft solved within 48 hours; employee arrested, goods worth ₹2.5 crore recovered.

Madhya Pradesh: Police have solved a major theft case at a car showroom and arrested the accused within just 48 hours. The arrested individual is reported to be a 19-year-old employee of the showroom itself. Police have also recovered the stolen items, valued at approximately ₹2.5 crore, from his possession.

Providing details about the case, DCP (Zone-2) Aman Singh Rathore stated that the incident occurred at the Patel Motors showroom. On June 17, the showroom’s Operations Manager, Surendra Chaudhary, reported the theft to the police. The complaint stated that unidentified persons had made off with valuables kept in a cabin within the showroom.

According to the complaint, an iPhone, gold jewelry, and silver coins kept inside the showroom had been stolen. Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, the police immediately launched an investigation, attempting to track down the accused using both technical and manual inputs.

During the investigation, the police grew suspicious of a showroom employee. Subsequently, based on surveillance and questioning, the 19-year-old employee was detained. He was formally arrested based on facts revealed during interrogation.

According to the police, the accused had hatched the plan for the theft while inside the showroom and was fully aware of the valuables kept there. This allowed him to easily target the iPhone, gold jewelry, and silver coins.

Following the arrest, the police recovered all the stolen items—estimated to be worth around ₹2.5 crore—based on information provided by the accused. The police breathed a sigh of relief following the recovery, as the case involved a significant financial loss.

DCP Aman Singh Rathore stated that the police team worked swiftly to crack the case and apprehend the accused within just 48 hours. He emphasized the need to further strengthen security arrangements in showrooms and other establishments to prevent such incidents. The police are currently interrogating the accused to determine whether the theft was committed alone or with the help of an accomplice. They are also investigating whether the individual has been involved in any other criminal activities in the past.

Following this swift action, the police have stated that they will further tighten surveillance measures to curb such incidents of theft in the city.
