Amidst the Indigo crisis, the demand for private jets for luxury destination weddings and corporate travel has increased.

Maharashtra: An unexpected operational disruption at IndiGo led to a sudden surge in the chartered flight market, as first-class and business-class passengers sought to avoid the disruptions by switching to chartered jets.
Airline’s dominance amplified the impact across the industry
Operational issues at IndiGo in the first week of December crippled the Indian civil aviation industry, given the airline’s market share of approximately 65%. However, this situation proved beneficial for the general aviation industry, which witnessed record bookings during the crisis. Corporate groups and destination wedding parties scrambled to book private jets to avoid being stranded.
According to general aviation companies, the highest demand was for routes connecting popular destination wedding locations and business hubs. Cities like Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai became hot sectors, experiencing a massive surge in private jet bookings. Additionally, charter operators reported significant bookings from small to medium-sized corporate groups whose scheduled commercial flights had been abruptly canceled.
