Kattemadu Maha Mrityunjaya Temple: Festival celebrations from December 23rd to 28th.

Karnataka: The annual fair of the Mahamrityunjaya Mahadeshwara temple in Kattemadu village of the taluk will be held from December 23 to 28.
Shashi Janardhan Kattemane, president of the constituency, told a press conference here on Friday that various religious rituals will begin with a Ganapati Homa at 8 am on the 23rd. The deity will be taken for the Jalaka (holy bath) at 2:30 pm on the 27th. Later, a dance and music performance will be held in the temple premises at 6 pm.
Throughout the eight days of the fair, food will be served to devotees at the temple every day at 1 pm and 8:30 pm. Various types of puja rituals will be performed from morning till night. He said that thousands of devotees are expected to attend.
He said that on December 23, from morning till noon, there will be Ganapati Homa, offering of food to Brahm Rakshasa, Durga Puja, offering of food, Maha Puja, flag hoisting, and Maha Puja.
He said that on the 24th, the religious activities from 6:30 am till noon will include Nirmalya Bali, Dhwajasthambha Puja, and Maha Puja, and in the evening, there will be Shribhuta Bali and Maha Puja.
Similar rituals will be held on the 25th, and on the 26th, there will be Tulabhara Seva in the morning. He said that in the evening, there will be Nrityabali, Vasantha Puja, and the final rites of the deities.
On the 27th, after the morning Kavatapuja, Tailabhyanjana, and Panchamrita Abhisheka, the deity will be immersed in the Cauvery River at Nandipara at 2:30 pm. He said that in the evening, there will be a dance and music performance by the deity.
He said that the festival will conclude on the 28th with Navaka Kalasha Puja, Abhisheka, Panchamrita Abhisheka in the morning, and Maha Puja and distribution of prasadam in the afternoon. Committee secretary Kashi Kariyappa, members N.K. Ganapathi, P.K. Mahesh, M.T. Devappa, and B.S. Venugopal were present.
