Indore: Malwa farmers to benefit from market-linked forestry tech model

Madhya Pradesh: On Tuesday, a nursery campus in Mhow will become the launchpad for a new, science-based employment model for farmers in the Malwa region.
The Forest Science Center (VVK), a social forestry office, is set to open in Indore at the Malwa Demo Nursery Campus, providing farmers with high-yielding plants, modern forestry technologies, and solid market linkages.
The Indore center joins a national network of 42 centers established by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) since 2010, with technical support from the Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI), Jabalpur. It becomes Madhya Pradesh’s seventh VVK and the first dedicated hub for the Malwa agro-climatic zone, where farms and forests together support thousands of families.
