Bhopal: Illegal arms manufacturing unit busted.

Madhya Pradesh: The Kamala Nagar police on Wednesday busted an illegal arms manufacturing and supply racket and arrested two cousins with a large number of swords, knives, and other sharp and pointed weapons. Police officials said the two had been manufacturing and selling weapons from their homes in a slum area for the past three years.
The arrested accused have been identified as Chandan Vishwakarma and his cousin Durgesh Vishwakarma, residents of the Bapu Nagar slum. Chandan’s father had previously been arrested in a similar case of illegal arms manufacturing. However, he and his cousin continued to operate the racket.
Kamala Nagar police station in-charge Nirupa Pandey said that based on a tip-off, four police teams simultaneously raided the slum area. During the search operation, police recovered a large quantity of sharp weapons from two huts. A total of 79 weapons, including 4 swords and 75 knives, were seized from the spot.
The arrested accused confessed to manufacturing weapons in their homes and selling them to local goons, youth, and criminals in the slums and surrounding areas. They also confessed to running the racket for the past three years. Both were trained in weapon manufacturing by Chandan’s father.
