Chandrababu Naidu attacks during Tamil Nadu election campaign, says people want change
Tamil Nadu: The campaign for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections is in its final stages. All political parties have put in their best efforts ahead of the April 23rd vote. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu campaigned in several areas of the state and targeted the opposition alliance.
Naidu held public rallies in Hosur and Coimbatore on Monday, campaigning in support of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates, which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), among other parties.
He then campaigned in support of AIADMK candidate Gokula Indira, contesting from Chennai’s Anna Nagar constituency, and Satyanarayana, contesting from Thyagaraya Nagar constituency. He appealed to voters to support the NDA candidates.
In his speech, Naidu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he has strengthened India’s global presence and elevated the country to a prominent position internationally. He said that the Prime Minister is constantly working for the welfare of the people.
He also accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of obstructing the implementation of central government schemes. Naidu said that DMK founder and former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai had played politics against the Congress, but currently, under the leadership of M.K. Stalin, the DMK stands with the Congress.
Speaking on the issue of women’s reservation, Naidu said that his party has been demanding reservation for women for many years. He alleged that Congress and its allies had previously opposed this proposal. He said that Prime Minister Modi introduced a bill to ensure reservation for women, but some parties are still opposing it.
Naidu appealed to voters to ask DMK leaders if they come seeking votes, asking them why women’s participation in Parliament is limited. He also said that decisions on issues related to constituency reorganization have been delayed for political reasons.
Concluding his address, Naidu claimed that the people of Tamil Nadu want change, and that this desire will be reflected in the election results in the future. Now that campaigning has ended, all eyes are on the April 23rd election, where the state’s people will decide the next government.
