The first Indian film to win a BAFTA.. ‘Boong’ trailer is impressive

It is known that the Manipuri language film ‘Boong’ has made a name for itself at the prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2026 Awards. The film not only won the ‘Best Children and Family Film’ category but also created history by becoming the first Indian film to win a BAFTA. After this amazing success, the makers are preparing for a massive release of the film across the country. The film unit has recently released the trailer along with the release date of the film. The film, which has shown the power of Indian regional cinema on the world stage, is set to hit theaters on March 6. The project is produced by renowned producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment, and directed by Lakshmi Priya Devi.
The story of the film revolves around a little boy named ‘Boong’ from a remote village in Manipur. The boy, who longs to see a smile on his mother’s face, strongly believes that the most valuable gift he can give her is to bring his father back home. In this process, he searches for his father along with his friend and the experiences he encounters on that journey will make the audience teary-eyed. Director Lakshmi Priya Devi has brought the innocence of children and their pure love to life on the silver screen in the most natural way.
