Government is violating OBC quota law: Waring

Punjab: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday accused the AAP government of violating reservation rules for other backward classes (OBCs) in government jobs. Addressing a press conference, he said that while advertising for 58 posts of law officers, the government mentioned 12 per cent reservation for SC candidates but no such mention was made for the OBC category. He said this is a violation of the Punjab Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (Reservation in Services) Act, 2006, which provides for reserving 25 per cent seats for SCs and 12 per cent seats for OBC candidates in government jobs.
