Chennai and Vellore will experience intense heat till May 5.

Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu meteorologist Pradeep John has said that Chennai and surrounding districts, including Vellore, will experience intense heat until May 5th.
This year, the heat wave is at its peak. Temperatures have been exceeding 100 degrees Celsius in most districts of Tamil Nadu for the past week. Meanwhile, light rain is also occurring in the Western Ghats and southern districts.
In this context, Pratheen John, known as Tamil Nadu’s meteorologist, has described the current temperature in Tamil Nadu in his X site post:
“After a gap of several days, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has occurred in Karur, Dharmapuri, Erode, and Salem areas. More rain is expected in interior Tamil Nadu, southern and western Tamil Nadu.” Meanwhile, – 42.4°C: Highest temperature of the year
Chennai Meenambakkam – 40.2°C: First 40°C+ record of the year
Chennai Nungambakkam – 38°C: Highest this year Thiruvananthapuram – 40.6°C: Highest this year
He said, “For the next five days (until May 5th), it will be very hot from Vellore to Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Tiruvallur. After that, the temperatures will decrease.”
