DGP orders transfer of investigation to CBI

Tamil Nadu: DGP G. Venkataraman has ordered the transfer of the investigation into the death of an undertrial prisoner in Manamadurai, Sivaganga district, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
When police tried to arrest Akash Tellison (26), a resident of the area, in connection with a knife attack on two people in Manamadurai, he fell from a bridge and fractured his right leg. Akash, who was admitted to a government hospital in Madurai, died on Sunday. The Madurai City Police Department has registered a case and is investigating. Transfer to CBCID: Tamil Nadu DGP G. Venkataraman on Monday ordered the transfer of the investigation to the CBI. Based on this, CBI officials will soon begin the investigation by taking relevant documents from the Madurai City Police Department.
