Shortage of cooking gas cylinders? Tamil Nadu government issues immediate advisory

Tamil Nadu: The government is holding an emergency meeting to address the shortage of cooking gas cylinders.
As the war in the Middle East escalates, crude oil prices in the international market have reached between $110 and $120 per barrel due to the shortage.
The price of domestic cooking gas cylinders has already been increased by ₹60, and bookings have now been suspended at a high-level committee meeting.
Previously, bookings for cooking gas cylinders were allowed with a 21-day interval, but this has now been extended to 25 days. Consequently, the next booking can only be made 25 days after the cylinder is delivered.
As a result, there is a shortage of cooking gas cylinders in Tamil Nadu.
It is reported that the supply of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders has been stopped at the IOC Cylinder Filling Company in Manali, Chennai, and the supply of domestic gas cylinders has been halved. The Tamil Nadu government is in immediate talks with oil companies regarding this matter.
The Chief Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Government has directed that details of cylinders in stock be provided by this afternoon.
