The lorry strike in Nellai will begin from midnight on December 9th.

Tamil Nadu: The Lorry Owners Association has announced that lorries in Tirunelveli will go on strike from midnight on Tuesday (December 9) in protest against the central government’s tariff hike.
The central government has increased the fees for obtaining fitness certificates for motor vehicles across India several times, depending on the vehicle model. The Lorry Owners Federation has announced an indefinite strike throughout South Tamil Nadu in protest against this fee increase.
A meeting of the Truck Owners Association was held in Tirunelveli on Thursday in this regard. Following the meeting, the association’s president, Balakrishnan, and other officials said: Trucks in Tirunelveli district will go on strike from midnight on December 9. More than 5,000 trucks are participating in this strike. It is estimated that around 25,000 workers will be affected by this strike.
