Talwara: Two arrested with illegal liquor

Talwara: As part of the campaign against people involved in illegal liquor business in Kandi area, illegal and smuggled liquor was recovered during checking at two different places on Saturday. Hajipur police station in-charge Inspector Amarjit Kaur said that ASI Subhash Chandra along with the police team had set up a check post at the canal bridge of village Bhavanal. During the checking, a scooter was stopped and searched, and 1.5 lakh ml of illegal liquor was recovered from it. The scooter driver has been identified as Tarun Kumar, a resident of Ghasitpur. In the second incident, a police team led by ASI Harbhajan Singh had set up a check post at Hajipur T-point. On receiving information, the police checked a person sitting under the shed of Adda Daalowal. 11 bottles (8,250 ml) of smuggled liquor were recovered from him. The suspect was identified as Jeet Singh, a resident of Daalowal village. Hajipur police has registered separate cases against two suspects and started investigation.
