Tamil Nadu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that India’s receipt of historic copper plates from the Chola period from the Netherlands is a matter of pride for the entire country. Prime Minister Modi recently visited the Netherlands in Europe on a five-nation state visit. During this visit, a special ceremony was held in The Hague, where important historical artifacts from the Chola Empire were returned to India. At this ceremony, the Anaimangalam copper plates, dating back to the reigns of Chola emperors Raja Raja Chola and his son Rajendra Chola, were formally returned to India.
