Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: Legislative Assembly Secretary K. Srinivasan has resigned. He submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker JCT Prabhakar. His resignation includes an extension period till November. Of. Srinivasan had been serving as Assembly Secretary since 2018 and was known for speedily conducting Assembly proceedings during both the DMK and AIADMK governments.
Of. Srinivasan’s tenure was marked by many important events. When the Thaveka government was formed, during the three-day legislative session, MLAs were sworn in and voting was conducted on the confidence motion. During this time he played an important role in the smooth functioning of the assembly.
While handing over the resignation, he also informed the Speaker about the legal aspects and nuances of the split that had arisen in the AIADMK and the submission of letters by various MLAs to the two factions. It was clarified that the work was done as per the rules and procedures of the assembly.
