Tamil Nadu: Postal voting ends today

Tamil Nadu: It has been announced that the process of receiving postal votes in the 16 assembly constituencies falling under the Chennai district will be completed by Monday (April 20).

The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be held on the 23rd. For this purpose, 4,085 polling stations have been set up in the Chennai district. Ninety-six teams began door-to-door collection of votes from a total of 8,947 people, including senior citizens over 85 years of age and disabled voters who could not come to the polling station, on the 16th.

Following this, the collection of postal votes for government officials from other districts living in Chennai and those involved in election work in the Chennai constituency also began at the constituency election officer’s office on the 18th (Saturday).

According to the report, a total of 22,248 people will vote, including 5,151 from Chennai, including police personnel, Revenue Department officials who are election officers, employees, and Transport Department employees, and 17,097 from other districts.

Officials said the process of receiving their postal votes is expected to be completed by Monday (April 20) evening.
