Tamil Nadu: Preparations in full swing for Vijay’s swearing-in as Chief Minister

Tamil Nadu: Following the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results, political activity has intensified regarding the formation of a new government in the state. According to reports, actor-turned-politician Vijay Rupani is expected to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Thursday (May 7). It is reported that after the TDP emerged as the single largest party in the Assembly elections, winning 108 seats, Vijay Rupani has sent a letter to the Governor requesting the authority to form the government.
However, the Raj Bhavan has clarified that the TDP has not yet been officially invited to form the government. Despite this, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have begun. In this context, a key meeting of senior Tamil Nadu government officials was held on Tuesday, where the swearing-in ceremony and security arrangements were discussed in detail.
Chief Secretary M. Saikumar, Home Secretary K. Manivasan, and Director General of Police (DGP) Sandeep Roy Rathore, along with several other senior officials, were present. The officials discussed various aspects of the potential swearing-in ceremony venue and security arrangements.
According to sources, the swearing-in ceremony is likely to be held at the Nehru Sports Stadium. Administrative preparations are being planned accordingly. Given the expected large number of people, special emphasis is being placed on strengthening security arrangements.
Continuous discussions are underway in political circles regarding this development. Although a final decision regarding the government formation process has not yet been officially announced, administrative preparations have further increased political activity.
While Vijay’s expected swearing-in ceremony is creating an atmosphere of excitement among supporters in the state, the administration is closely monitoring the situation.
