Tamil Nadu ranks first in industrial energy efficiency
Tamil Nadu: The government has announced that Tamil Nadu has topped the Indian rankings in industrial energy efficiency with a score of 55.3 percent.
A press release issued by the Tamil Nadu government on this: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is implementing several schemes to make Tamil Nadu a pioneer state in all sectors. As a result, Tamil Nadu has achieved 55.3 percent marks in Group 1 of the State Energy Efficiency Index 2024 in industrial energy efficiency. With this, Tamil Nadu has created a record by securing the first position in India.
Following this, Andhra Pradesh leads in Group 2 with 27.5 percent. Furthermore, Odisha is showing good progress with 23.1 percent, Chhattisgarh with 28.8 percent, Madhya Pradesh with 16.5 percent, and Tripura with 10.9 percent.
Chief Minister M.K. Thanks to Stalin’s dedicated efforts, Tamil Nadu has emerged as a leading state in promoting and implementing energy efficiency initiatives in the construction sector.
Furthermore, Tamil Nadu is among the top three states with the highest number of certified green buildings.
Similarly, 25 states have received Energy Conservation Awards to recognize energy conservation efforts. Of these, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Odisha lead with the most awards, followed by Gujarat.
It is reported that a total of ₹26 crore has been invested and promoted in the energy efficiency of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Tamil Nadu through the Energy Audit and Energy Conservation Program in 2023-24.
