Tamil Nadu: The Education Department has ordered teachers who have been on alternate assignments to return to school.

In this regard, the Directorate of Elementary Education has sent a circular to all District Education Officers: Some intermediate and graduate teachers working in government higher and secondary schools were ordered to work on alternate assignments for various reasons, including the well-being of students, during the previous academic year (2025-2026).

In this situation, the last working day of the current academic year is scheduled to end on April 25th.

Therefore, steps should be taken to immediately grant leave to teachers who were ordered to work on alternate assignments last year and have them join the schools where they worked on the last working day of the school year. It states that all District Education Officers should make appropriate arrangements for this.
