Tamil Nadu: There will be a local holiday in Karur district on January 28th.

Tamil Nadu: A local holiday has been declared in Karur district on January 28th on the occasion of the consecration ceremony of the Venkataramana Swamy Temple in Thanthondrimalai.
The district administration has announced that February 7th will be a working day to compensate for this local holiday.
The Thanthondrimalai Venkataramana Swamy Temple in Karur is known as the Tirupati of the South. Those who are unable to travel to Tirupati for worship usually visit the Thanthondrimalai Venkataramana Swamy Temple.
This 12th-century temple was consecrated in 2014. Since then, renovation work has been underway since last August in preparation for the upcoming consecration ceremony.
The temple’s consecration will take place on January 28th. This is why a local holiday has been declared in Karur district on January 28th. February 7th has been declared a working day to compensate for this holiday.
