Every year, during the winter months of November, December, and January, frost occurs in many places in Ooty, Nilgiris district. The frost usually begins a few weeks after the onset of snowfall. However, this year, unlike previous years, frost began to appear in the Manjur and Coonoor areas in the first week of December.

In the second week, frost started appearing in Ooty and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the temperature recorded at the Ooty Botanical Garden was 3.1 degrees Celsius, while frost was observed at the racecourse and Kanthal, and temperatures of 0 degrees Celsius were recorded in areas including Thalaikundha and Avalanche.

As a result, the daily lives of people who go out for various tasks in the morning, such as harvesting vegetables, were significantly affected.
