Tata Nexon CNG launched in the market

India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors is expanding its green mission with the launch of Nexon CNG. This is India’s first turbocharged engine CNG car. It is India’s first car to get four fuel options at the same time.
The price of Tata Nexon CNG starts at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and there are 8 trim levels to choose from. These are Smart (O), Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+ and Fearless+ S. The top-end Nexon CNG Fearless+ S starts at Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
This first turbocharged CNG vehicle from Tata Motors is powered by Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG technology. Power to this car comes from a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. When running on gasoline turbo engine, it develops power of 118 hp. and torque 170 Nm. When using CNG, the performance is slightly reduced. When running on compressed natural gas, it generates 99 hp. and torque 170 Nm.
The twin-cylinder i-CNG has two 30-liter cylinders located under the boot floor, providing full boot space. This is better than a single cylinder unit. It features advanced ECU and automatic switching between fuels, allowing it to run directly in CNG mode. In case of a gas leak, the iCNG technology switches from running on compressed natural gas to gasoline. For added safety, the Tata Nexon also features a micro switch to turn off the ignition.
The design of the Nexon CNG is the same as the petrol and diesel models. The i-CNG emblem is only on the trunk lid. Talking about the interior, it also has features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, two-spoke steering wheel and keyless entry.
