Vijayawada: TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan released the BC manifesto during ‘Jai Ho BC’, an event organized near Mangalagiri on Tuesday.

Framing a Special Protection Act for Backward Classes (BCs), providing a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 to BCs from the age of 50 and allocating Rs 1.50 lakh crore for the BC sub-scheme over five years are some of the things he did. Was one of the promises. Leader of the Coalition for “Community Upliftment”.
Stating that 300 BCs were brutally killed during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, the TDP chief said the purpose of the Special Protection Act was to protect BCs from attacks and atrocities.

Alleging that the Jagan government reduced BC reservation in local bodies from 34% to 24%, resulting in 16,800 BCs losing their status, Naidu said that apart from restoring 34% reservation to BCs in local bodies, A proposal will be made and sent to the Centre. Government to implement 33% reservation for BCs in legislative bodies
He said less populated BC communities, which cannot contest elections, will be given the opportunity to become co-opted members. Saying that the TDP-JSP government will set up the BC Corporation on the basis of population, the former chief minister assured that the funds will be allocated proportionately.
Furthermore, he announced that Rs 10,000 crore will be spent over five years for self-employment in BC. Accusing the YSRC government of canceling 30 schemes including Adharna for BCs, Naidu said the scheme will be reinstated and work equipment worth Rs 5,000 crore will be given to BCs. While promising to conduct caste census legally, he said that permanent caste certificate will also be made available. Chandranna insurance will be reinstated with Rs 10 lakh and Peli Kanuka amount will be increased to Rs 1 lakh.
Some of the other assurances given to BC also included restoration of fee reimbursement for PG students, study boards and Vidyonnathi scheme. The TDP supremo also promised that the construction of BC buildings and community halls would be completed within a year of the alliance coming to power. Naidu said that apart from upgrading residential schools as junior colleges, the Videsh Vidya Yojana will be implemented without any conditions. Saying that the BC manifesto was prepared after intensive consultation with stakeholders over the last three years, Naidu called on TDP workers to visit every household and convince people about the promises.
Speaking on the occasion, JSP president Pawan Kalyan accused Jagan of betraying the BC by not allocating Rs 15,000 crore per year as promised before the 2019 elections. The YSRC government ignored the requests of BC organizations to recognize all 153 castes. Despite promising to set up 139 corporations, only 56 were introduced with zero budget,” the actor-politician pointed out.
Emphasizing that atrocities against BCs require a BC Protection Act on the lines of the SC and ST Atrocities Act, he alleged that the YSRC government has registered cases against 26,000 BC persons in the last five years. Saying that the TDP has been committed to the welfare of BCs since its inception, party general secretary Nara Lokesh said that while NTR created many opportunities for BCs to hold various positions in the government, Naidu encouraged the community. Has continued to do so successfully. Recalling his interactions with people of the BC community during the Yuva Galam Padayatara, Lokesh said that a report on their issues has been submitted to senior TDP leaders.
