Tea seller commits suicide, troubled by family feud

Korba. A young man, distressed by family discord, committed suicide by hanging himself in Moti Sagar Para Basti. Upon receiving information, Kotwali police arrived at the scene, prepared an inquest report, and sent the body to the District Medical College for a postmortem. Police recorded statements from family members and began further investigations. The deceased has been identified as Shani Gond (30 years old), a resident of Mahangu Gond. He ran a tea stall a short distance from his home to support his family. He committed suicide on November 7th.

On the morning of November 7th, he was at his shop when he learned that his family members were arguing at home. Hearing this, he returned home. Upon returning home, Shani angrily went to his room and locked the door. The family thought he might be sleeping in anger, but when the door didn’t open until late at night, they feared something untoward had happened. They immediately informed the Kotwali police.

When the police reached the spot and broke the door, they saw Shani hanging from a rope tied to a pipe inside the room.
