Teak wood worth Rs 2 lakh seized, forest department raids villagers here

Bijapur. The forest department seized illegal teak buried underground in village Padeda of Gangalur region. The market value of the wood is estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh.

On Wednesday, the team was formed by Bijapur Forest Department SDO Devendra Gaur. The team raided the house of Tulsi Durgam in village Padeda and seized 255 pieces (3.048 cubic metres) of illegal teak. The value of the wood has been estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh as per the market price. During the operation, a case was registered against two accused caught from the spot and the seized wood was sent to the Bijapur Depot. Further action is underway.

SDO Devendra Gaur of Bijapur Forest Department said that on the basis of information received from the informer, we formed a team and sent it to the house of the accused, and raided the spot and seized about 3 cubic meters of wood, whose market value is more than Rs 2 lakh. Is.
