According to reports, the company can equip this car with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine like other cars. A turbo engine option is also available. This means that the manual version of the SUV should have 110 hp. and 190 Newton meters of torque. And the six-speed automatic transmission option offers 110 hp. and 205 Newton meters of torque.
The Citroen Basalt SUV will be the fourth product to be introduced by the company in the Indian market. Can be positioned between the C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross. Apart from the C3 and C3 Aircross, the ICE-powered C5 Aircross is currently available in the Indian market. The company also offers eC3 in the electric segment.
The Citroen Basalt has been launched in the coupe SUV segment in the Indian market. At present, no company offers a car in this segment. But the Curve will be launched by Tata on August 7. In such a situation, the Citroen Basalt will compete directly with the Tata Curve.
As per the details, the SUV will go on sale on August 2, 2024 and the exact price details will be announced at the time of launch. However, it is expected that the company will offer this SUV in the price range of Rs 10-14 lakh.
