Teenager murdered by slitting his throat, dead body found in the forest

Amethi (Uttar Pradesh): A teenager was murdered by slitting his throat in Amethi. The body of the teenager was found in the forest outside the village. Police sources said on Tuesday that Meraj (14), a resident of Mohabbatpur in Jagdishpur police station area, had gone to watch Durga Puja on October 22 with his friends Ghulam Hussain and Ashiq Ali. After watching Durga Puja, both the friends went home while Meraj did not return with them. Troubled family members asked his friends but neither of them gave any satisfactory answer. Frustrated, the family lodged a missing report at the police station.

On Tuesday morning, information was received that a dead body with its neck cut was found in the forest 500 meters away from the house. As soon as the information was received, the family members reached the spot and identified the body as Meraj. Police reached the spot and started investigation by sending the body for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police have taken the accused mentioned by the family members into custody and started questioning them.
